RTS Seminar in Lima, Peru
“The role of the adjuster in managing Earthquake and Catastrophic Risk Claims”
27th November 2019
The RTS Group has brought together leading figures from the main insurers, brokers and professional bodies in the Peruvian insurance sector, to take part in a conference on the management of Claims resulting from Earthquakes and other CAT risks and how an adjuster can approach these claims on the ground.
Because of its geographic location, Peru is a country with a high frequency of tremors and there have been many intense earthquakes throughout the country’s history, such as those that affected the cities of Arequipa in 2005 and Pisco in 2007. Talks were given by specialists of the RTS Group who travelled from Mexico, Argentina and Spain, to share their experiences and know-how with the Andean insurance market.
David Castillo, RTS’ General Director for South Latam, Juan Miguel Álvarez, RTS’ General Director in Mexico, who has extensive experience in managing large earthquake claims such as those occurring in Mexico in 2017, and Ricardo Vásquez, RTS’ General Director in Peru, answered questions from members of the audience formed by more than 60 participants interested in the Group’s international experience, during a cocktail held after the workshop.
RTS International Loss Adjusters has more than 30 years’ international experience and a team of professionals specialised in managing Catastrophic Risk claims, such as Earthquakes, Hurricanes or events that can generate extraordinary social alarm. The RTS Group’s specialist CAT team is formed by experienced engineers, working throughout the group’s national and international offices.
Cristina Zambrano, who is the Manager for Colombia of IST the leading specialist Cause Analysis and Claims Investigation Firm that is part of the RTS Group, presented this firm to the Peruvian market. IST has its own network of eleven offices distributed throughout Spain, Portugal and America.
